2 ½ cup flour
2 cup brown sugar
½ tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk*
2eggs, beaten
*To make sour milk, add 1 Tbs of lemons juice or white vinegar to 1 cup of milk and let sit 5 minutes.
